Honda CR-V, has been manufactured since the year 1995, by the Japanese automobile giant, Honda Motor Company Ltd. The compact Crossover Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV), roughly following the lines and structure of Honda Civic, provided it with eminence and manoeuvrability of a car. With its launch, the earliest or the first generation of CR-V lasted for about five years, from the year 1996 to the year 2001. The engine used was a 2.0 L straight-4 B20B with efficiency to produce 128 hp and 180 N.m of torque. The transmission available was 5-speed manual and 4-speed automatic. It had a wheelbase of 2,620 mm (i.e. 103 inches). Another redesigned model was launched in the year 2007. It is powered by the latest version of Honda’s engine from the K-series and the 2.4 L 4-cylinder engine. Current generation Honda Accord and Honda Element used similar variants of this engine. It was lower and broader than its previous models. It became one of the top most selling vehicles of the year. The engines available are 2.0 L R20A I4, 2.2 L N22A turbo diesel I4 and 2.4 L K24Z I4. Transmissions are available in 6-speed manual and 5-speed automatic. It has a wheelbase of 2,620 mm. Its dimensions are 4,518 mm in length, 1819 mm in width and 1,704 mm in height.
In July 2011, Honda released the first look of the upcoming CR-V model in 2012.The fourth generation car is a new way in the styling direction. The new CR-V Concept will be launched Orange Country Auto Show in California in September.
